Badges and Awards for IT Companies
Top 10, Top Rated, Verified, Featured company of the month and Trending: what each badge means, how editors award them and how to show them on your site.
IT company badges on Trusted IT Firms are awards that editors give to companies with strong, complete and trustworthy profiles. There are five main types: Top 10, Top Rated, Verified, Featured company of the month and Trending. Companies cannot add badges to their own profiles: every badge is awarded by the Trusted IT Firms team. Once awarded, a badge appears on the company's profile and comes with embed code so the company can display it on its own website, with a link back to its profile. This page explains each badge and how companies can earn them.
The badges at a glance
| Badge | What it recognises | How it is awarded |
|---|---|---|
| Top 10 | A place among the leading companies for a technology, service or location | Editors, often with a specific label such as a technology and country |
| Top Rated | Consistently positive, approved client reviews | Editors, based on the company's review record and profile |
| Verified | A listing confirmed as belonging to the company | Editors, after checking the Trusted IT Firms badge on the company website |
| Featured company of the month | A company highlighted for a month | Editors, for a set period |
| Trending | A company attracting strong interest from clients on the site | Editors |
Top 10
A Top 10 badge recognises a company's place among the leading companies in a specific part of the directory. Editors can give the badge a precise label, for example Top 10 WordPress Companies in India, so it is clear what the award covers. The leading companies on a page such as WordPress companies in India or Android app development companies are decided by the same ranking rules used across the site: editor rank, featured status, profile score and newest listing. A complete, well-reviewed profile is the foundation for this badge.
Top Rated
The Top Rated badge highlights companies whose clients have consistently left positive reviews. Only reviews that the Trusted IT Firms team has approved count. Each email address can review a company only once, so a Top Rated company has earned good feedback from several different clients, not repeated praise from one.
If you are a client, the reviews behind a Top Rated badge are visible on the company's profile. Read a few of them and look for details about project type, communication and results that match what you need. A badge is a shortcut, and the reviews are the evidence behind it.
Verified
Verified companies show a blue check. To earn it, a company adds the Trusted IT Firms badge to its own website, requests verification from its dashboard and passes an editor's check that the website and listing belong together. Verification confirms identity, not the quality of the company's work, and it adds 3 points to the profile score.
Featured company of the month
Editors can feature a company for a set period. While it lasts, the company appears above non-featured companies of the same editor rank in lists, and it can appear in the Featured this month section on the home page. That section shows editor-featured companies first and fills any remaining places with the companies whose profiles were viewed most that month. A Featured company of the month badge marks the award on the profile.
Trending
Trusted IT Firms tracks what clients search for, and the home page shows the technologies people are searching for most. Editors can award a Trending badge to companies that are drawing strong interest from clients on the site. It is a signal of attention rather than quality, so clients should read it alongside reviews and past projects.
Labels and expiry dates
Each badge can carry its own label and an expiry date. The profile and dashboard show when a badge was awarded and, where relevant, until when it is valid. When a badge expires, it disappears from the profile and the embedded badge image stops showing on the company's website, so displayed awards always stay current. This protects clients from out-of-date claims and keeps each award meaningful.
How to display a badge on your website
- Sign in and open the Badges section of your dashboard. It lists every current badge awarded to your listings.
- Copy the embed code shown under the badge. It is a short piece of HTML: an image of the badge wrapped in a link to your Trusted IT Firms profile.
- Paste it into your website, for example in the footer, on your About page or on an Awards page.
- Check the page while signed out to confirm the badge shows and the link opens your profile.
The badge image shows the award name, your company name, Trusted IT Firms and the year it was awarded. Keep the code unchanged so the image and link keep working.
Place badges where visitors who are deciding whether to trust you will see them: next to testimonials, on proposal landing pages or in the footer. Show only current badges, and replace an expired one when you earn a new award. Each badge links to your profile, so visitors can read your reviews and see the award for themselves, which makes the claim more credible than a logo alone.
How to earn badges

- Ask past clients for genuine reviews on your profile.

For clients: how to read badges
Badges help you decide which profiles to open first. A blue check tells you the listing is genuine. Top Rated points to strong feedback from past clients. Top 10, Featured and Trending show editor recognition or client interest. None of them replaces your own checks, so read reviews, look at past projects and compare proposals. Start browsing in the company directory or on a busy page such as IT services companies.
