Free Business Listing Sites in India for IT Companies (2027)
The free business listing sites in India that IT and software companies should use in 2027, what each free option includes and how to build a profile that wins enquiries.

The free business listing sites in India that matter most for an IT or software company are a short list: Google Business Profile and Bing Places for map and search visibility, a LinkedIn company page, Justdial and IndiaMART for Indian buyers who search local platforms, and B2B IT directories such as Clutch, GoodFirms, TechBehemoths, Sortlist and Trusted IT Firms, where clients compare development partners. You do not need fifty listings. You need ten to fifteen complete, consistent profiles on sites your buyers actually use. This guide explains what each site offers, how its free option works and how to fill a profile that wins enquiries.
Why generic listing lists do not fit IT companies
Search for free business listing sites in India and you will find long lists. One SEO agency list published in March 2026 names 50 platforms, including Zomato, Practo, MagicBricks and CarDekho. Another lists dozens of small directories with no information on who uses them. Those lists are written for every kind of small business, from restaurants to clinics. A software company that sells to clients in India, the USA or Europe has very different needs.
Your buyers are usually founders, product managers, CTOs and procurement teams. They search Google, ask colleagues, check LinkedIn and compare vendors on B2B directories. They rarely browse a classifieds portal to find a Laravel team. So the test for any listing is simple: would a person who might hire us ever see this page? If the answer is no, the listing adds maintenance work and little else.
There is also a quality issue. Google's spam policies name "low-quality directory or bookmark site links" as an example of link spam. Submitting your website to hundreds of thin directories will not help your rankings, and it can create a messy footprint of outdated details you later have to clean up.

The table below covers the free listing options we were able to confirm from each platform's own pages or from the research sources listed at the end. Paid upgrades exist on several of them, and terms change, so check each site before you rely on a detail.

Search and map listings: start here
Google Business Profile. Google states that creating a Business Profile and listing your business on Google is free. It is the listing most likely to appear when someone searches your company name, and the one where reviews are most visible. Google's own page says you can define service areas even if you operate without a physical storefront, which matters for remote-first IT teams. If you have an office where clients can visit, verify that address. If you work from a shared space, read Google's guidelines before you add the address. Our guide to Google Business Profile for IT companies covers categories, services and review requests in detail.
Bing Places for Business. Bing Places offers a free basic listing and, according to SiteCentre's guide, can import details from an existing Google Business Profile, which saves time. Bing's share of searches in India is smaller than Google's, but the listing also feeds other Microsoft surfaces, and it takes minutes once your Google profile is complete.
Justdial. Justdial describes its listing as free, and the platform also sells paid campaigns. It is most relevant if you sell websites, IT support or software to local businesses in your city. Paid campaigns are offered alongside the free listing, so decide in advance whether you want them before anyone contacts you about upgrades.
IndiaMART. IndiaMART's seller page advertises free registration. It is a product marketplace first, so it fits companies that sell a packaged product, such as billing software, an ERP for a specific industry or hardware with services. A pure custom development firm will usually get more from B2B IT directories.
B2B directories where IT buyers compare vendors
These are the platforms that matter for export-oriented Indian IT companies. Each offers a free profile, with different rules on how free listings are shown:
- Clutch offers a free profile that takes about 20 minutes to complete, verified reviews and badges. Paid options include sponsorship and featured listings, and Clutch publishes no prices for them. A Clutch listing also gives you a profile on The Manifest, its sister site.
- GoodFirms describes its basic listing as "$0 forever". Its PRO plan costs $49 a month, billed $588 a year, and adds featured placement above free listings.
- TechBehemoths presents itself as 100% free and says setup takes less than six minutes.
- Sortlist offers a free profile and a paid plan, Sortlist+, at €129 a month plus credits.
- DesignRush accepts agency submissions with manual approval, and its paid sponsorship starts at $500 a month.
- TopDevelopers.co has a free Basic listing, but its own packages page says Basic placement starts from page 2.
- Trusted IT Firms offers a free company listing at /register-your-company/. Profiles show services, location, team size, hourly rate band and reviews, and appear on service, technology and location pages. The order of companies is explained on the ranking methodology page.
If you only have time for three, pick the two directories your target clients mention most often in sales calls, plus one where you can collect reviews quickly from existing clients.
Startup portals, press listings and Crunchbase
Some Indian lists of "startup directories" are really lists of news portals with a "get featured" page. One widely syndicated list of 20 such sites was itself a press release carrying an advertorial disclaimer, and it did not state which sites are free. Treat these as media placements, not directories. Ask for the price and whether the article will be labelled as sponsored before you submit anything.
Crunchbase is different. Its help centre says any registered and socially authenticated user can add a profile page. It is useful if you have raised funding, built a product or want investors and partners to find accurate details. For a services firm it is a supporting profile, not a lead source.
What our own data says about Indian IT profiles
Trusted IT Firms lists 154 companies in India, the second largest country in the directory after the United States. Gujarat has the most listings of any Indian state with 57, most of them in Ahmedabad, followed by Maharashtra with 11. See all IT companies in Gujarat for an example of how a state page groups firms.
One pattern stands out. In the data snapshot behind this article, 57 of the Indian company profiles leave the hourly rate field empty. Buyers filter by budget, so an empty rate field can keep you out of the shortlist before anyone reads your description. Among Indian profiles that do state a rate, 48 list $25 to $75 an hour and 42 list $1 to $25.
How to fill a profile that wins enquiries
A listing only works if the profile answers a buyer's first questions. Use the same core facts everywhere, then tailor the description to each platform.
- Name: use one brand name consistently. If your registered company name differs, mention it once in the description.
- Address and phone: match your website footer exactly, including PIN code and the format of the phone number with +91.
- Services: choose the three to five services that make most of your revenue, not every option in the dropdown.
- Technologies: list the stacks you can staff today, such as Laravel, React, Flutter or .NET.
- Rate and minimum project: state a USD hourly band and a typical minimum budget so international buyers can qualify you.
- Proof: add two or three short case studies with the problem, what you built and a measurable result you can stand behind.
- Reviews: ask recent clients for reviews on one platform at a time, so each profile builds a visible record.

Nofollow, dofollow and realistic expectations
Most directory profile links carry a rel attribute such as nofollow, ugc or sponsored. Google's documentation says such links will generally not be followed, and its spam policies treat paid or low-quality directory links as link spam. In practice, a directory listing helps through referral visits, brand searches and trust signals when a buyer checks you out, not through a ranking boost. Do not pay for a listing because it promises a dofollow link. Judge it by whether your buyers use the site. The guide to directory backlinks for software companies explains how to check link attributes yourself.
A 30-day listing plan for an Indian IT firm
| Week | Tasks |
|---|---|
| Week 1 | Write a master profile document: name, address, phone, services, technologies, rate band, team size, founding year, 150-word and 400-word descriptions, logo and three case studies. |
| Week 2 | Complete and verify Google Business Profile, Bing Places and LinkedIn. Update your website footer and contact page to match. |
| Week 3 | Create profiles on two or three B2B IT directories, including Trusted IT Firms. Add UTM tags to profile links where the platform allows it. |
| Week 4 | Ask five recent clients for reviews, split across your main platforms. Add local platforms such as Justdial only if you sell to Indian SMEs. |
After that, review the listings every quarter. Update team size, services and case studies, and remove profiles that send no visits or enquiries after six months.
Conclusion
For an Indian IT company, the best free listings are the ones your buyers already use: Google and Bing for search, LinkedIn for credibility, and a handful of B2B directories for vendor comparison. Complete each profile properly, keep your details consistent and measure what each one sends you. You can list your company free on Trusted IT Firms today and see how your profile appears next to other Indian IT firms.
Frequently asked questions
Which free business listing site is most important for an IT company in India?
Google Business Profile, because it appears for brand and local searches and shows reviews. Google states that creating a profile is free. After that, add LinkedIn and two or three B2B IT directories your clients use.
Are Justdial and IndiaMART useful for software companies?
They can be if you sell to Indian small businesses or sell a packaged software product. Custom development firms targeting international clients usually get more from B2B IT directories such as Clutch, GoodFirms or Trusted IT Firms.
Do free listing sites improve SEO rankings?
Do not expect a ranking boost. Most directory links are nofollow or similar, and Google treats low-quality directory links as link spam. Listings help through referral traffic, brand searches and trust when buyers check you out.
How many listing sites should an Indian IT company join?
Ten to fifteen well-maintained profiles is usually enough. Prioritise sites your buyers use and keep every profile consistent and up to date.
Is listing on Trusted IT Firms free?
Yes. You can create a free company listing at /register-your-company/ with your services, location, team size, rate band and reviews.
